Objective :
The aim of this course is to explore environmental governance and environmental diplomacy. Transboundary treaties and agreements regarding environmental governance and diplomacy, play a crucial role in international relations and global governance. To discuss and manage national and regional politics and policies without considering environmental perspectives is inevitable. Climate change, sustainability, environmental pollution as well as the use of natural resources are some of the key themes in environmental diplomacy. During this course, we will discuss the fundamental principles of environmental governance and diplomacy, tools, and approaches in the governance process. This course also is equipped with the analytical part of the selected international and regional treaties and historical perspectives of environmental diplomacy.
